EKC Group was contacted by the BTEC awarding body, Pearson, at 4.30pm on the day before we expected to issue results to students taking BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. We were told by Pearson that we would not be able to issue the grades due to a further review of them by the awarding body. Pearson has stated that this will not negatively affect grades.
As a result of this news, we will be pressing Pearson for a swift resolution to this issue so that our students can have some much needed clarity around their results. All students who have been affected by this will be contacted by email by their local College and we will keep learners updated throughout this period.
We would like to apologies on behalf of Pearson as we understand that this is a real blow to students who have worked hard to achieve their ambitions.
GCSE results are unaffected by this issue and we look forward to issuing them as normal.
