Additional Learning Support

Our specialist staff are here to support students who have varying needs, including physical, sensory, dyslexia, autism, global learning delay, challenging behaviour and mental health. 

Support available

We have facilities and resources to assist further with complex needs and our dedicated team provide support for:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Autistic spectrum conditions
  • Social behavioural difficulties
  • Physical and mobility difficulties
  • Hearing or sight impairment
  • Medical conditions
  • Learning difficulties
  • Mental health conditions

Support services can include:

  • Focused transition activities prior to the start of College
  • Experienced and skilled learning support practitioners
  • Development of independence skills
  • Meeting personal care needs
  • Supervision at the beginning and end of the day and at break times
  • Focused travel training in partnership with parents/carers   
  • Job coaching in the workplace
  • Administration of medication
  • Exam arrangements for individuals

Starting your time at College

Learner needs are met following an assessment to identify the best method of support. There will be an induction programme to give information about the facilities and resources of the College and the support team will keep in touch while you are at College through termly reviews.

Please let us know your needs when you make your application to the College. Further support can be arranged once you have started.
