Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning

What does this course involve?

This course is designed for those intending to work or volunteer in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting those with disabilities or special educational needs, and communication and professional relationships.

Support learning activities
Promote positive behaviour
Develop professional relationships
Promote quality, diversity and inclusion
Support assessment for learning
Understand child and young person development
Engage in personal development
Understand how to safeguard the well-being of children and young people

This Study Programme will include English and maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.

What qualifications do I need?

4 Cs or 4s including English and maths at Level 4.

You will also need to:

Gain a voluntary or paid placement in an infant school of at least 12 hours per week
Have a full DBS for the setting
Provide a written letter from your placement stating that they will support your placement hours and allow our work placement assessors to visit and observe you in the setting
