Across the UK the workforce is projected to expand by 24% over the period to 2027, adding 6,410 jobs. In the same period, 83% of the workforce is projected to retire, creating 22,470 job openings.
Job holders in this unit group plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate the activities and resources of hairdressing salons, beauty treatment and similar establishments.

Students learn from professional makeup artists at MAC
Our Media and Theatrical Makeup students visited the MAC Cosmetics store in Carnaby Street to learn from professional makeup artists. The students watched demonstrations and got to test out the MAC Professional range. They also took a trip to the Urban Decay Superstore in London to stock up on new makeup for their course.
Students take part in the KFE4Skills Competition
Students have the opportunity to take part in the KFE4Skills competition each year, which sees students across Kent compete in vocational challenges related to the subject they are studying at college.
Students gain hands-on experience
Our students have been lucky enough to take part in work experience at local theatres including The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury, working alongside the cast and crew of many productions such as My Fair Lady and The Addams Family.
