"East Kent College is committed to developing the prosperity and wellbeing of the communities we serve."
Who we are
East Kent College is a cross-campus college of further education with:
The mission of the College is to raise aspirations, develop skills and deliver quality.
Our last Ofsted placed us among the top performing colleges in the UK. This means students can expect great teaching from dedicated professionals to support your studies. Our staff bring their Study Programme to life with their real world experiences and latest industry.
We have a small senior management team who provide leadership in the strategic direction of the college. We have excellent teams of staff who are very effective in supporting students and we continually strive to improve the quality of the provision. The college is effective in supporting individual learners and students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
From our roots as a catering college, we have grown to be one of the largest centres of professional and technical learning in East Kent, with qualifications offering a broad range of industries that serve our local communities.
We have invested heavily in Broadstairs Campus facilities for our students so students will be able to see Hospitality first-hand in our commercial training hotel, use the latest technology in our Creative Industries Centre and develop technical skills in our Construction and Engineering workshops.
We benefited from a £2.7m investment at our Dover Campus over the past year and we are now able to offer a wider range of vocational qualifications that are responsive to the needs of the local community. Our high-quality industry standard facilities have been designed to give students the best starting point, whether they move into employment or further study.
Our Folkestone Campus has benefited from a £3.7m investment over the past year, meaning that we can offer you the best, hands-on educational experience possible, in new, industry standard facilities. Our choice of vocational qualifications reflects the needs of the local community, providing students with the essential skills that employers are really looking for.
We are committed to working with community organisations and the college is considered to have a leading role in the future development of the communities we serve: Dover, Shepway and Thanet.
