Progression Mentors
The College has a team of Progression Mentors to support full-time learners in their personal development, enabling them to become independent learners who enjoy and achieve and are able to reach their full potential.
A student who is perceived to need extra support to achieve will be referred to the mentors. Students are also able to self refer if they feel they would like extra help. We encourage all learners to approach our staff with any concerns they might have.
We would also encourage parents and guardians to contact the Personal Tutor or Progression Mentor if they have any concerns regarding the young person’s progress using email via learningmentors@thanet.ac.uk
Progress Reviews and Parent/ Carer/ Guardian Evenings
Parents/carers and guardians will also receive progress reviews and have the opportunity of attending at least two Parents’/carers/guardian evenings a year (the dates of these will be published at the start of the academic year).
The young person will have a minimum of three formal review sessions every academic year. These reviews consider attendance, attitude to work participation in class and work record, amongst other factors. Written progress reviews will be issued to the young person and their parents/carer/guardian.
