Bursary Fund for 16-18 and Discretionary Fund for 19+
Thanet College’s Student Support Team aims to help students on a benefit or low income with course related costs such travel, equipment, and childcare. We have a Bursary to replace the EMA scheme for students who are 16-18 and a Discretionary Support fund for students who are 19 and over. Your situation will be considered individually and all circumstances taken into account.
(Please note that if you claimed EMA during the academic year 2009-10 and 2010-11 and will still be under 18 at the start of your course, you may be eligible to EMA for 2011-12, please ring the help line on 0800 121 8989. Students who are still eligible for EMA will not be eligible for the 16-18 Bursary).

Payment By Instalments
Thanet College is pleased to announce that in response to demand from our students we are entering into a partnership with Ashmore Credit Solutions. This organisation is able to offer an instalment plan to all students whose College tuition fee for the 2011/12 year is £500 or more.
There are conditions to this agreement, as there are with all such arrangements, however, there will be no additional charge for the credit plan, it is interest free and the repayment terms will be as follows:
25% of the tuition fee and all of the registration fees paid at enrolment.
The balance of 75% of tuition fee payable over the length of the course up to a maximum of nine months from the first week of October 2011. By entering into an instalment plan there is a commitment to pay all of the tuition fee, even if you do not complete the course. This should be considered by anyone wishing to spread the payment of their fees using this facility.
Further information is available on request from our student admissions team, contact on telephone 01843 605049 or email at admissions@thanet.ac.uk.

Thanet College Scholarship
Thanet College is pleased to offer a limited number of Scholarship places available for students wishing to study with them in September 2011.
The scheme will make it possible for adults over the age of 19, who want to study on a full time basis, to receive support for 95% of their tuition fee.
The College is hoping this scheme will help those people who may be benefit dependent or on low income and in receipt of working tax credits to retrain and learn new skills. Places are limited and will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis from applications received by our Student Support Team.
