Student Finance
Our Student Services Finance Team can help you apply for financial assistance whilst you are studying here at Thanet College. The range of support available includes:
- Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) – a weekly payment for students aged 16-18 based on household income
- Adult Learning Grant (ALG) - a weekly payment for students aged 19+ subject to eligibility
- Learning Support Fund (LSF) - aims to ensure that no student is prevented from studying due to financial hardship
- Help may be available to purchase course uniform, equipment or books
- Students 19+ may also be eligible for help with travel costs
- Support with childcare costs subject to eligibility
Students 16 – 18 may be eligible for a FREE or SUBSIDISED travel pass via the KCC Home to College Travel scheme. Application forms are available upon request
