vtalent Year Volunteering Programme
This is a brand new, full-time VOLUNTEERING programme designed to improve the employability of young people.
You can take part in at Thanet College if you are:
1) aged 16-252) interested in working with young people
3) willing to study
4) Able to commit a 30 hours a week for a straight 44 weeks (until July 2011)
5) Available to start on 6th September 2010
What are Thanet College and vtalent offering You?
A level 2/3 qualification in a subject area of your choiceThe opportunity to gain important practical skills and experience through volunteering, to support your course and help you kick-start a great career
Team working/leadership skills
An allowance of up to £100 a week
Up to £1,500 personal development grant towards further education, work or training on successful completion of the year
Brush up on your Maths and English to level 2 if you haven’t already
Ongoing training, development and careers support and advice
There are 22 young volunteer places available at Thanet College this year Volunteering placements and courses will be individually tailored to meet each young person’s career aims.
