Essential Skills
Essential Skills are important for further education and employment, and higher levels attract UCAS points. Employers want their employees to be able to communicate effectively and work independently as part of a team. They also need them to be able to use numbers in everyday situations and have good ICT, research and presentation skills.
This is where Essential Skills come in and students will study these skills at an appropriate level for them and their course.
Communications, Application of Number and Information communication Technology can be achieved at Levels 1-3.
Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy can be achieved at Entry Levels 1,2,3 and at levels 1,2.
