vtalent with Thanet College

This year sees the second (and sadly, possibly the last) cohort of vtalent year volunteers joining us as part of this years full-time volunteer programme. The project is backed by the government and funded by the ONLY Young Person's Volunteering Organisation 'V' (www.vinsipred.com). This year we will host 22 volunteers (a vast improvement on last year’s 7!). Therefore we hope that their time, energy and enthusiasm will have a massive impact upon enhancing college’s services and the learner journey this academic year.
This years volunteers will start on September 2010 and stay with us until July 2011.
The vtalent year volunteers will be working within their chosen area of the college for around 20 hours per week; they will also be studying towards a relevant qualification to support their placement and future personal development.
The volunteers will focus some time on work as a group, for a few hours each week; so if staff have any tasks or projects that need an injection of energy, here is a ready-made team for the job! They are currently working on ideas for Children In Need and action for Learner Voice, but welcome more long or short term ideas to tackle!
These helpful people are here to work with and for, both students and staff, so please stop and have a chat with them. The full-time vtalent year volunteers will also be looking toward recruiting student volunteers for various schemes throughout the year, so please help us spread the word!
