Thanet College Staff Rock the Campus
At the annual celebration event, college staff were treated to a wide range of activities including Tai Chi, a Dragons Den challenge and the debut performance of the staff rock band, aptly named ‘Collegy 8 and the 7 Sisters’.
The celebration day was a huge success for everyone involved and it demonstrated just how well the college engages with its staff, students and local businesses throughout the year.
This year has been even more successful for the college, with an OFSTED monitoring visit that reported the significant contributions of staff to improve the quality of provision. Inspectors also reported, “Staff speak of a college which has team-working and strong communication at its heart”, which is one of the key reasons for such a successful outcome.
As well as this, the college has been a ‘Beacon College’ finalist, had a regional winner at Adult Learner week and has achieved national recognition with a Star Award for innovation.
Feedback from staff captured the spirit of the event ‘I found the whole day very enjoyable, it was good to learn about relaxation, tai chi and discover what other sections do within the college concerning employer engagement. The band was excellent and the ‘section sharing show’ was very interesting. I enjoyed the guest speaker and joining in the celebrations of everyone’s successes at the college’
