Students Raise Funds for Demelza House
Over the last Academic Year, a number of students and staff
have ran a multitude of fund raising events for Demelza House cumulating in the
figure of £1,144.51 being handed to their Early Years Team.
Some of the fund raises that have been run include cake
sales, Christmas dinner for 30 staff and sponsored walks. This is just a sample
of what they did, the money was raised in the main by Cache Foundation students
with support from the Diploma year 1 students and individuals from the level 2
course.
Alongside the efforts of the Early Years team, hairdressing
students put on a Burlesque show that managed to raise £465, which was also
donated to the charity. Details of this event can be viewed here.
Keith Lee, from Demelza House said, "As you know we are
currently providing care and support to over 570 families throughout the South
East region. None of our aims can be
achieved without the ongoing goodwill, support and generosity of our
supporters, for which we, and our families, thank you."
Due to the success of the fund raising, similar events will
be run throughout the next academic year to aid such a worthy, local, cause.
