Following their self organised Charity Duathlon on Sunday 10^th May, a group of students presented a cheque to the value of £223.94 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute in Ramsgate.

On arriving at the Lifeboat Station, the students were given a tour around an all-weather boat and the surrounding facilities that the RNLI make use of for their day to day duties.

All in all, it was a good end to the students BTEC Introductory Diploma in Sport and Leisure due to their experience gained through organising an event through with minimal support, from start to finish.

Their lecturer, Susannah Spillman was quoted as saying, ‘It was a brilliant experience for the students’. On completion a number are expected to continue onto the level 2 qualifications from September, later this year.
