Relocation Update - 29th June 2009
The Learning
and Skills Council (LSC) has announced today a shortlist of 13 Further
Education Colleges which have been prioritised to proceed to the next stage of
development out of a total of 180 colleges with redevelopment plans.
The Governors
and staff of Thanet
College are disappointed
to learn that their own relocation plans do not form part of the 13 selected
but recognise the urgent needs of those colleges selected.
The college
is continuing to liaise with the LSC to explore the future options for alternative
development strategies.
In the short term the college will be concentrating on the use of the additional funds made available by the Government to help the long term unemployed by creating a series of tailored training courses to help those most in need in the Thanet area.
