An Evening of Burlesque for Charity
Imaginative hair displays, eye catching make-up, creative costumes and choreographed performances will all be brought to the stage this month by a group of talented Level 3 Hairdressing Thanet College students.
The show, An Evening of Burlesque, has been arranged solely by eleven students as part of their course assessment, alongside the event organisation each student has to prepare and style 3 to 4 volunteer models within the fun burlesque theme. All profits including ticket sales will be donated to the Demelza House charity.
A number of local businesses have supported the event in advance, one local salon helped temporary fund the initial venue deposit on behalf of the students, generous raffle donations have been made by others including Tesco, whilst a local chorographer and professional photographer have also offered their services before and during the evening. A full ‘Thank You’ board prepared by the students will be on display in the main foyer on the evening.
The exciting show is on for one night only, Monday 20th April 2009 at the Theatre Royal, Margate, with doors opening at 7.00pm for a 7.30 pm start.
