A Wheelie Great Gift

Thanet
College’s Motor Vehicle department received a generous donation from a local
business this week.
Ramsgate
garage, Kent Car Craft, gave the department a Renault Clio for the students to practice
on. Former Thanet College student Owen Forrest runs the garage on the west
cliff and also employs apprentice Lee Bezer, currently studying towards his
level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance course with the college.
Motor Vehicle
students rely on donations from local garages to help them with the resources
they need to carry out their practical work and achieve their qualification.
The
department has also received vehicles from Keith Holland Motors and Spains both
in Ramsgate and Meadspeed in Faversham. Other businesses have given parts and
tools to the students including S&S Autos in Margate, Essex Motors in
Cliftonville and Eastcliff Garage in Ramsgate.
Motor Vehicle
course leader Alan Earp personally thanked all the employers that have made
donations over the past year. Alan said
“Because
technology moves at such a fast pace it is difficult for us to keep up and we
rely heavily on the help we get from local business. We hope that this will
continue and would ask anyone that is interested in helping us or would like to
discuss what we can do to help them to contact me here at the college by phone
or email, and once again thanks to you all for your continued support”
Kent Car Craft is also known as a Japanese Sports Car Specialist who has ties with a number of online vehicle owners clubs. Their contact details can be found on their website at www.kentcarcraft.com (currently under redevelopment).
