A Level Results 2009

It has been another successful year for Thanet College’s AS and A level students.

The College can confirm that our students achieved 100% passes in five of the eight subjects offered in 2008/09.

There were 100% pass rates in A level English, Sociology, Photography and psychology, and AS level Law, Photography, Sociology and Media.

And we are pleased to announce that 60% of students taking A level Sociology achieved an A pass rate.

Some of our students have overcome significant personal challenges to study with us, notably Jenny Payne, who is a young mum who fitted her studies in around her family commitments and achieved an excellent pass rate in her AS level qualifications. Jenny, who is continuing her studies at the College next year, is hoping to gain a place at Kent or Christchurch University to study Law.

Joelle Mifund, who travelled to the UK from Malta, has completed her studies despite this upheaval and achieved an A pass in her AS level Sociology and also gained AS qualifications in English and Psychology.

Jack Studden, who wants to study Journalism at University, is the College’s top performing student at AS level, gaining an A grade pass in Sociology, an A in law and a B in English.

Jessica Wyatt is the top performing A level student, achieving an A pass in Sociology, and two B’s in Psychology and English.

Well done to all of the students for achieving so much, we wish them good luck for the future.
