The College
Thanet College is one of the longest established academic institutions in East Kent. Situated in on a 12 acre, partially wooded campus, the College has provided top quality vocational and academic training to the residents of the Isle of Thanet since 1947. Our main building, the historic Yarrow building, is one of the most recognisable buildings in the area and is home to our International and ESOL Section.

The Area
The Isle of Thanet is a 10 square kilometre peninsula on the South-eastern most corner of England. An island in name alone, the channel separating Thanet from England disappeared in the 15th century and Thanet became part of the mainland. In the Victorian era, Thanet was part of what was known as Britain’s leisure coast, an area of good weather and seaside resorts that was popular as a holiday destination before overseas travel became widely available.
