Meetings Structure and Calendar
Structure
In order to conduct its business effectively the Governing Body meets as a Full Board at least four times a year. Much of the work of Governors takes place in the Committees and Governors normally serve on at least one of the following committees:-
Search Committee: responsible for recruitment, induction and training of Governors
Audit Committee: responsible for the financial and other controls operating in the College and for implementing the recommendations in audit reports
Business Committee:responsible for setting and monitoring performance standards responsible for financial, risk management and property issues
Education Committee: responsible for monitoring quality of the curriculum and programmes, reviewing the student learning experience, monitoring strategies in the curriculum, student welfare, quality and improvements.
Remuneration Committee: responsible for setting and monitoring the salaries of the senior post holders and the Clerk.
Meetings
The Governing Body shall decide on an individual basis whether to allow a person who is not a member of the Governing Body to attend meetings. Such a decision will always consider the statutory position and the matters of confidentiality to be discussed.
