Our award-winning Life and Employability programmes are tailor made to support young people and adults with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities in gaining valuable life and work skills whilst studying in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Based within brand new facilities, including an accessible computer room, personal care facilities, a working shop and drama studio, which support holistic and realistic learning.
Programmes offered range from Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3, and are all fully accredited by recognised awarding bodies. A high quality level of teaching takes place within small group sizes, which ensures high levels of support. This promotes increased confidence for students, allowing them to take ownership of their learning.
Students are encouraged to transfer skills learnt into the home or work placements which can be internal or external. In addition, learners have the option to select from either life skills courses, or courses which support them in gaining paid employment.
The Life and Employability programme area has been recognised by Hi5 Awards for the design of individualised visual learning plans, as well as Project SEARCH which supports students in gaining paid employment through internships.
