Overview
This programme area covers a wide scope of provision within the Engineering arena at levels ranging from Foundation to Level Four Higher Education courses.
The range of subjects covered includes computer maintenance, both hardware and software applications, gaming, computer programming, pneumatics, mechanical engineering including lathes, milling and CNC machining, Motor Vehicle maintenance and repairs and diagnostics.
A brand-new course in Electrical Installation was launched in 2011, which covers the technical information at level 2 needed to complete a full apprenticeship in electrical at level 3.
Programmes provide for full time courses and apprenticeships for work based learners and work experience placements are encouraged to give students the best opportunities for progression.
Students are trained using cutting edge virtual technology across the area and are encouraged where possible to plan and track their own progress to allow independent and differentiated study patterns.
