Community Education provides free courses to those aged 19 and over across a variety of subjects. Ideal for those wishing to update their skills, improve their employment opportunities, or simply as an introduction to College life, the courses are run throughout the year in several venues in Thanet.
Funded courses are available for those claiming Job Seekers Allowance, to help you overcome gaps in your skills so you are ready to enter a variety of industries. Courses include: Construction Trade training, Hospitality and Catering, Retail, Information Technology, Office Skills and Employability Skills.
The Job Broking Team operate a vacancy matching service, which involves supporting your application for jobs, arranging and preparing you for successful interviews. The team’s support does not stop there, once you have secured your job, we will continue to support you through the early days and assist you and your new employer with further training needs. The Employability team recently assisted people into securing jobs with SAGA, Premier Inn, The Range, Wettons, Turner Contemporary, Rooks, Rank and Harry Levy.
The College also has a range of courses available in the community to assist those who want to improve their computer skills, gain qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy, build their confidence and act as an introduction to part and full time courses at the college. The College works with partners in the community including Children’s Centres where short courses are available, for example Cooking on a Budget and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
