Dear Applicant
Thank you for you interest in working at Thanet College. We have high aspirations for our future development and we are keen to attract ambitious and talented staff to help us to realise our vision.
Thanet College is a successful, medium sized further education college, in an attractive location in an area which is known as the Isle of Thanet. This is a dynamic community which has benefited from recent regeneration and has many opportunities for future development.
Thanet is a very attractive area in which to live, with a warm, dry climate, open countryside and 10 beaches with blue flag awards – more than anywhere else in the country. Recent investment in Kent International Airport at Manston, the Westwood Cross Retail Park and business parks have contributed to the development of the area. This will be further enhanced with the creation of the Turner Centre and development of arts in Margate, together with the high speed rail links. There is a good range of residential property which is still relatively low cost for the South East region and Thanet is identified as an area for significant growth in the near future.
The College is at the heart of the community, working with local employers, schools and community organisations, with a good local reputation, sound inspection grades, good financial health and a strong focus on quality improvement, Thanet College aims to be the college of choice for the local community and employers.
