A group of media students are playing at the Westgate Pavilion on Thursday 3rd June as part of their ‘MMX’

News has come through that a group of our media students have now planned their end of year show, calling it ‘Upgraded’. There will be two screens split between the first and second year students who are currently studying the BTEC National Diploma in Media.
Students from the music department are holding a Glee club for anyone and everyone attending Thanet College…
“What’s a Glee Club?” I hear you ask.
Just like the programme, Glee club is somewhere you can come and express that performer within you, through singing and basic choreography leading up to future performances and competitions along the way.
Sign up sessions will be held in A120 (music department, Kingsgate) on 28th of April and 5th of May from 1pm-3pm.

St Augustine's in Thanet
A prom has been organised by a group of our Travel & Tourism students and tickets have recently gone on sale. If you are a student of the College and want to take part, perhaps by purchasing a ticket for yourself and someone special to you, visit the library between 1 and 3pm any Thursday until the event takes place.
The prom is going to take place on Saturday 22nd May at St Augustine’s, Birchington.

To support national Go Green Week, Thanet College has a number of events going on, including a ‘Go Green Human Banner’, Move n Smooth Fresh Fruit Smoothies and Love Food Hate Waste.

National Go Green Week activities are gearing up ready to take place from Febuary 8th till the 12th. Thanet College will be involved through a range of events being run by staff, students and local organisations. This years theme is ‘Love Your Climate’ so activities will be keeping this in mind.
As plans fall into place I will continue to post updates on this blog for everyone so they know what is happening across the campus. Anyone else in the community can take part in this by reading about the campaign at the People and Planet website.
