For anyone interested in watching the recently released film Robin Hood, you might want to take a look at this review, written by Joseph Ewens, on the DVD Outsider website. It looks to be an interesting and entertaining action movie remade with modern actors in a more gritty environment. A lot of older stories coming out at the moment seem to have this gritty reimagining but it is a trend that seems to give extra depth and different perspective on the old classics.
One quote from the review that stands out goes on to say,
Actors wade towards the camera through boggy marshes or charge on horseback across dark sandy beaches. Each setting is captured beautifully by Scott regular John Mathieson, who presents the overcast beauty of the English countryside in a powerful but maudlin way that neatly reflects the national mentality. The most visually captivating scene features a snarling Mark Strong as the villainous Godfrey. Strong has become the de-facto choice for big budget bad guys, having played the lead villain in both Kick Ass and Sherlock Holmes within the last 12 months. As soon as his angular face hits the screen, you can be certain that he’s up to no good.

News has come through that a group of our media students have now planned their end of year show, calling it ‘Upgraded’. There will be two screens split between the first and second year students who are currently studying the BTEC National Diploma in Media.
As part of their UK tour, InMe will be playing at the Westcoast Bar on Saturday 29th May to promote their 4th album, Herald Moth, which was released on 14th September last year.
The band is being supported by Fei Comodo, Envy of the State and Imicus.

Students from the music department are holding a Glee club for anyone and everyone attending Thanet College…
“What’s a Glee Club?” I hear you ask.
Just like the programme, Glee club is somewhere you can come and express that performer within you, through singing and basic choreography leading up to future performances and competitions along the way.
Sign up sessions will be held in A120 (music department, Kingsgate) on 28th of April and 5th of May from 1pm-3pm.
