For fans of Indie music, the new music video to accompany Jamie T’s single release, Emily’s Heart, is now viewable on YouTube and posted here for you to have a look at.
The reason this video has made its way onto this blog is due to the music video being filmed in Broadstairs!
The single is already available on the Kings and Queens album, however a re-recording is being released on the 15th March that also includes a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s Atlantic City as a ‘B-side’ track.
This may not be to everyone’s musical taste and has been said by some to sound pretty ‘Melancholy’, however it is still interesting to see how Thanet is slowing regaining its place on the map for having a good diversity in music (live or otherwise!).
While browsing the Studity website I came across the following video and felt it might be useful to some new blog visitors to show what a blog is and what it can be used for.

There are a couple of big budget AAA titles this month to take note of with a very Eastern emphesis on those releases. The most obvious being Final Fantasy XIII that will be available on the PS3 and XBox 360 consoles. A few others include Way of the Samurai 3, Yakuza 3 and God of War 3!

Following closely on from Go Green Week, the College is running a ‘Fair for All’ week that has similar activities going on between the 1st and 5th of March.
With the amount of activities going on, it’ll be best for anyone interested to download the complete programme here.
So over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to keep on top of keeping you all up to date with what’s happening locally. We’ve had the usual round of DVD reviews, another cutesy video of the week and a few other posts to do with Go Green Week. We’ve also had quite a few exclamation marks so I’ll try and cut down on those as well(!).

A lot of students don’t make use of the College library, however there are more than just books to borrow. Every week new music CD’s, films and even videogames are purchased for students to borrow. The new stock added in February includes a wide range of music styles and the full list is available for anyone looking for more details.
Given the amount of knowledge shown in this review, it is hard to say anything else extra. For anyone who has ever heard of ‘Spirited Away’ or the equally as known anime, ‘Howls Moving Castle’, this is another animated movie from Studio Ghibli.
I have to agree with a comment from the review, the literal translation from the Japanese title, ‘Umi ga Kikoeru’ to ‘I Can Hear the Sea’ is more appealing to me. I always wonder why western publishers feel the need to alter things like this to appeal their market when the title of the movie probably won’t have a huge effect on its popularity…

This month has an unexpected number of highly anticipated games being released across all platforms. There is something for everyone, from the new Star Trek Online mmorpg (massively multiplayer online role playing game) being released on PC, Heavy Rain for PS3 through to the next instalment of the Ace Attorney games ‘Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth’.

If your interested in anything supernatrual, or specifically Vampire related, then read on for details on the new Blu-Ray / DVD release of the Park Chan-wook film, Thirst. Going by the review the film has a fresh take on the usual Vampire movies and is definitely worth a watch, even if you have grown tired of the usual format that came about in the early part of this decade.
