Sandra Foster
Sandra first qualified in the 1980’s into corporate aviation at Heathrow Airport by studying a four year distance learning programme with City & Guilds. Sandra looked after the commercial and operational activities of multi-national companies and their fleet of corporate aircraft. There was an extensive international aspect to the work and Sandra travelled to culturally interesting and diverse destinations such as Siberia.
Sandra decided to follow through her legal qualification in 1997 at South Kent College where she studied an Access to Law qualification as a mature student with three young children. Sandra then graduated from the University of Kent in 2001 with a Law Degree (LLB) and went on to study for a post graduate diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law, London in 2002. After a two year training contract with a local law practice in Kent Sandra qualified as a Solicitor in 2004. Sandra continued to work in legal practice specialising in property and private client matters before taking a family break from law in 2007. Since then Sandra has worked part-time in educational governance for both a primary and a senior school near Hythe.
In 2008 Sandra trained as a Marriage Registrar and Celebrant for Kent County Council and still regularly conducts and registers civil marriages throughout the County of Kent.
Sandra joined Thanet College in January 2011 as College Solicitor and Clerk to the Governing Body; a role which combines her experience in law and in education.
