Having graduated with a BSc Honours in Science Anne undertook a full time post graduate Diploma in Personnel Management gaining professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CiPD).  Anne then pursued a career in human resources working initially for the health service as a Medical Staffing Officer, and subsequently over the next 5 years rising through a number of positions to Personnel Manager leading a team of HR professionals providing a comprehensive service to over 1,500 staff.

Anne was then appointed as Thanet College’s first Personnel Manager in preparation for the incorporation of Further Education Colleges in 1993. Over the next two years Anne headed up Human Resources at the college during a period of turbulence for the Further Education Sector with significant changes to long established terms and conditions and working practices for teaching staff.  Over the next 6 years Anne was to extend her remit to include; staff training and development, quality improvement and assurance, health & safety and in addition took on the Clerk to Corporation role in 1998.

Anne subsequently became the Director of Human Resources and the first female member of the College’s senior management team reporting directly to the Principal. Anne also pursued professional recognition for her experience and expertise becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in 2000.

With a passion for Further Education Anne took on a wider brief and became the Director of Corporate Services covering; Student Services, Learning Support, Students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities and Marketing as well as HR, Quality Assurance and Training and Development.  In 2008 Anne was promoted to the post of Deputy Principal and was recognised for her service to the public sector in 2011 with an invite to a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Anne is also a long standing Governor of Ellington & Hereson School.
